give me some 'sugar'

To me, one of the most rewarding aspects of being a creative professional is working with other creatives types - putting your right-brained heads together to create something really fantastic. So when my friend and fellow creative, Jennifer Little of Sugar Photography, offered to style and photograph pieces of our collection I leapt at the opportunity, and, returning the gesture offered my graphic design services to her growing business. A large brown box of carefully packaged stationery, several brainstorming e-sessions, and time toiling in our respective studios we came up with below...

{"whale of a good time" fill-in invitation set by paper anniversary co.}

{"let's horse around" everyday greeting by paper anniversary co.}

Many thanks to Mrs. Little for using her amazing talent for paper goodness! I couldn't be more pleased with the results and looked forward to many more collaborations in the future. See her recap from the stationery shoot on her blog and more of her beautiful photography at sugarphotographs.com.

girl inspired:: Blanca Gomez

{Above: Typographer, Rainy Night, and Present by Blanca Gomez}

An illustrator and graphic designer based in Madrid, Spain, Blanca Gomez is my latest artist infatuation. Her illustrations have a mid-century tone, but are completely fresh and modern. The rest of her work including paintings, photography, and gocco prints exemplify her cleverness with color and are pure eye candy.

Feast the eyes on Gomez's complete works on her site Cosa minimas or buy her prints at Poster Cabaret.

The Chromatic Typewriter

Have you seen the Chromatic Typewriter?! It's something I just stumbled upon myself and had to share..

Created by Washington-based artist Tyree Callahan, the Chromatic Typewriter is a 1937 Underwood Standard typewriter that has been modified and reborn as a"functional painting device" bringing a whole new stroke of genius to the craft of upcycling. (Imagine the beautiful paper goods we could create with this typewriter!)

Read more about The Chromatic Typewriter on Colossal and at West Collects. Learn about the artist and see his other works here on his blog.
